Art Camp part deux

Not only were we drawing our asses off everyday but we also worked on a larger painting every morning at HQ......

Some details of the piece.....

We finished the work with a high gloss resin, so it's very difficult to photograph. So here's one without the flash....
And one with.

Art Camp

Garrett and Aya spent a week at our house at the end of January to work on pieces for the collective. I didn't really get any photos to document the insane amount of work we did. Aya took a couple of Garrett though. This is pretty much how you found him all week.

Bird Watchers Origin!

Three friends living in three different cities decided they wanted to work on some collaborative pieces together. Tyson Bodnarchuk (Montreal), Aya Kakeda (New York) and Garrett Van Winkle (Winnipeg) began mailing each other drawings to add to, colour or whatever else that came to mind. The finished works are beginning to pile up and the B.W.O.N.A.C are ready to start exhibiting. Look for exhibit dates in the very near future in New York, Toronto, Quebec City, Winnipeg, Ottawa, Montreal and Calgary.

Aya Kakeda

Aya was born and raised in Tokyo Japan. She now works and lives in Brooklyn, New York. She likes Cats, seals , and receiving postcards and she has ever changing weekly obsessions, now it's Clavariaceae and star nosed mole. She also elaborates lots of theories about lot of things. When she doesn't indulge in her obsessions she paints and draws, creating her own whimsical narratives. Check out her website here.

Garrett Van Winkle

Garrett Van Winkle lives in Winnipeg, Manitoba. When you don't see him drawing (which is rare), he's probably mixing fancy drinks. You can check out more of his work here.

Tyson Bodnarchuk

Born in Winnipeg but has called Montreal his home since 2003. Obsessed with monsters, zombies, comic books, sci-fi and horror and anything Jim Henson has touched. Check out more work here.
